Korean Festival: 22 May - 1 June 2006

This year, as part of the 40th Anniversary Celebrations, Clare Hall, for the first time, is hosting the Korean Festival.

Featured is a colourful programme of talks, music and dance, films and art.

It is hoped that the festival will strengthen the relationship between the College and its partner universities in Korea which have been formed over the last three years.

Film:  Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter...and Spring
A film by Kim Ki-Duk
(Suitable  for persons 15 years of age or older.)

Place: Clare Hall Dining Room
Time: 8pm

The Guardian
"It is both serene and gripping, and carries a potent and mysterious charge in its visual poetry. ... This is one of the very few films which has a real spiritual dimension; it bears that dimension lightly, and persuasively transmits a Buddhist conviction that time, age and youth are an illusion. A charming and rewarding film."

The Observer
"Kim Ki-Duk's Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring is an entrancing fable about learning, suffering and the passing on of wisdom. Covering many years, it unfolds in five chapters reflecting the circular process of the seasons in its title. ...
This film might well become some sort of classic."
