Howard Gaskill is Reader in German at the School of European Languages and Cultures, University of Edinburgh. He is the editor of The Poems of Ossian and Related Works, (Edinburgh University Press, 1996) and has edited, with Fiona Stafford, From Gaelic to Romantic: Ossianic Translations (Rodopi, 1998).
