Andrew McDonald is Green Officer for the Graduate Student Body Committee (GSB) 2022/23.

Andrew completed his undergraduate studies in 2022 at Michigan State University, where he earned degrees in Computer Science, Advanced Mathematics, and Statistics as an Alumni Distinguished Scholar and Goldwater Scholar. He joins Clare Hall as a Marshall Scholar and Gates Cambridge Scholar pursuing an MRes and PhD in AI for the Study of Environmental Risk and is broadly interested in applying machine learning to problems in earth and climate science.

Outside of research, Andrew is passionate about sustainability and looks forward to guiding Clare Hall’s leadership in this space as Green Officer.

Outside of academics, Andrew is an avid skier, runner, hiker, and outdoorsperson with a love for travelling and coffee.
