How to Breed Better Politicians
This talk will present a mathematical model of British local politics. Statistical analysis of the model reveals that voters are unlikely to be able to use performance data to discern differences in the quality of the policies and operations of various political parties, even if these differences are real and substantial. The talk will then present a modified political system which would provide more reliable data that voters could use to make better choices. Finally, there will be some discussion about how the new political system might be tested experimentally.
