Speech and Expression Under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

While at Clare Hall, my intention is to work on a book that I’m writing on the First Amendment of the United States Constitution Speech Clause. In the U.S., one of our great debates now is interpretation and application of the First Amendment Free Speech in our Bill of Rights. One of the chapters in the book I will devote to comparing the freedom and regulation of speech between the United States and Britain. In sum, my conversation will canvas the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, focusing largely on the free speech and expression protections and by comparison make reference to Britain’s approach and defamation laws.
