Emeritus Fellow honoured by high h-index ranking from Research.com

On 17 February 2022, Research.com announced the list of its 1,000 top mathematicians worldwide, ranked according to the h-index. Professor A. S. Fokas, Emeritus Fellow of Clare Hall, has ranked first among all mathematicians of the two mathematics departments of the University of Cambridge - namely of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics - where he occupied the chair of Nonlinear Mathematical Science in 2002-21, and of the Department of Pure Mathematics and Theoretical Statistics.

Overall, Professor Fokas is ranked eighth in the UK, over the entire period that the h-list is documented. Among the distinguished mathematicians included in this list is the late Sir Michael Atiyah, former President of the Royal Society.

Research.com’s ranking is a reliable list of leading scientists from the area of Mathematics, based on a meticulous examination of more than 3,707 scientists on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph.
