The British Museum opened a major exhibition - ‘Arctic: Climate and Culture’ – in September 2020. Soon afterwards came another lockdown, and the exhibition was closed to the public.
To keep interest alive, Clare Hall arranged a Zoom discussion around this subject.
Speakers include Professor Peter Wadhams, an internationally-renowned expert on the Arctic Ocean and a Fellow of Clare Hall; Sara Wheeler, a prize-winning travel writer; and Maria Pia Wadhams, formerly Director of the Zavatti Polar Institute in Italy.
Topics ranged from fast-melting ice to the way of life among indigenous Arctic peoples and Inuit carvings.
