Postdoc Weekend Brunch

The Postdoc Committee organised a free brunch for all Clare Hall members in October. The event was extremely popular and sold out within the first week of advertising. Over 45 Clare Hall Members, students, postdocs and families attended the event. Children played Twister and Jenga, while the adults relaxed in the lounge over a healthy English brunch, which included eggs, baked beans, sausages, home-baked croissants, and a variety of muffins and sweet pastries. Postdoc 3 Slide Talks

The first of a series of 3 Slide Talks featured the works of three Clare Hall Postdoctoral researchers. Professor Alan Short wins engineering award for Addenbrookes building research

The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) has awarded Clare Hall Fellow, Professor Alan Short, the Carter Bronze Medal for his 2016 paper A medium-rise 1970s maternity hospital in the east of England: Resilience and adaptation to climate change. He also recently featured in the CIBSE Journal talking about the art of natural ventilation and how studying architectural design from the past can help tackle the pressures of climate change in the future.... Clare Hall Students Graduation

Congratulations to the Clare Hall students who graduated on Saturday 21 October. The President and Praelector spoke at the graduation dinner on Friday night, then on Saturday we walked in procession from College to the Senate House, where seven students were awarded PhDs and fifteen received MPhils. A fine achievement. Well done, all.

Matriculation Dinner 2017

College President David Ibbetson and the Tutors were pleased to welcome the new graduate students to Clare Hall. On Monday 9 October, all the new students were matriculated, officially becoming members of the  College and the University. IT transformation at Clare Hall

Clare Hall has developed a brand new IT network which has resulted in high-speed connectivity across the college. The project was carried out in collaboration with UIS (University Information Services) Networks Division after they launched an initiative to share its IT expertise with Cambridge colleges last year.   Read more
