This year's Ashby Lecture will be given by Dr Ha-Joon Chang from the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge.  Dr Chang's lecture will be entitled 'How much is the free market compatible with a 'decent' society?'.

Digital Interpretations by Steven Mayes

Clare Hall Art Committee warmly invites you to the vernissage of 'Digital Interpretations', an exhibition of new artworks by American artist Steven Mayes at Clare Hall, Herschel Road, Cambridge, CB3 9AL. 

The vernissage will be preceded by a wine reception and welcome speeches by the artist and members of the art committee. The exhibition will then continue until 26 July 2017, open to the public daily between 9 am – 5 pm

The concept of need in Adam Smith by Toru Yamamori

Clare Hall Life Member Toru Yamamori has recently published a paper looking at the concept of need in the prevailing neoclassical school of economics.  Entitled 'The concept of need in Adam Smith', the paper was written during his time as a Visiting Fellow at Clare Hall.

Professor David L Callies honoured by the William and Mary Law School

The William & Mary Law School Property Rights Project will honour Clare Hall Life Member Professor David L. Callies in October, with the 2017 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize. The prize is named in honour of the lifetime contributions to property rights of Toby Prince Brigham and Gideon Kanner and is presented annually to a scholar, practitioner or jurist whose work affirms the fundamental importance of property rights.

Rethinking Cognitive Enhancement

Ahmed Dahir Mohamed, Clare Hall Life Member, has written a new Oxford University Press Handbook entitled Rethinking Cognitive Enhancement.  Ahmed, in collaboration with Wayne Hall and Ruud Ter Meulen, tackles the issues of the use of pharmacological drugs for cognitive enhancement.
