Creative writing careers panel features Life Member of Clare Hall

Life Member elected to Joseph Conrad Society of America Board of Trustees

Professor Jana M. Giles, a Life Member of Clare Hall, was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Joseph Conrad Society of America. She was promoted to Full Professor of English at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in autumn 2021, and continues as Endowed Professor in English Literature. Her latest publications have centered on the Polish-British author Joseph Conrad, and the South African author J.M. Coetzee, and the aesthetics of the sublime.

Research Fellow to speak at Alzheimer’s Research UK annual conference

Professor Li Su, a Research Fellow at Clare Hall, has been invited to speak during Alzheimer’s Research UK's annual conference in Brighton this month. He will present at the 'Life of a Fellow' event, sharing his experience of setting up a research group after being awarded the prestigious Alzheimer’s Research UK Senior Fellowship, and being appointed Professor of Neuroimaging at the Flagship Neuroscience Institute, University of Sheffield.

PhD student to present research on genomics of reproductive ageing and fertility to Parliament

Stasa Stankovic, a PhD student in Genomic Medicine at Clare Hall, has been shortlisted to the top ten within the Biological and Biomedical Sciences category in STEM for Britain – a major scientific poster competition organised by the UK government’s Parliamentary & Scientific Committee. She will present her work to Parliamentarians and subject judges on 7 March 2022, and compete for the Westminster Medal.

Clare Hall is delighted to continue the 2021-22 season of Intimate Engagements, with the next concert set to take place on Saturday 19 February, with a performance of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.

Visiting Fellow appointed Director of the Eudaimonia Institute, Finland

Professor Jouni-Matti Kuukkanen, a Visiting Fellow of Clare Hall, has been appointed as the new Director of the Eudaimonia Institute in the field of Human Sciences research. Professor Kuukkanen’s recent research has focused on philosophy of science and philosophy of history, having been the Chief Editor of the Journal of the Philosophy of History (2017-2022).

PhD student to speak within Selwyn College MCR's LGBTQ+ History Month Seminar

The African Society of Cambridge University organises African Food Day with the aim of showcasing the diversity of food and culture on the African Continent, and this year the event is being held at Clare Hall.
