Brent Allred is a Professor of Strategic Management and International Business at The College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, VA, where he has been since 1999. He earned a B.S. in Accounting and MBA (Finance) at Brigham Young University and a PhD in Strategic Management/International Business at the Pennsylvania State University. His professional work experience includes several years in the technology sector, including work at Intel and Symantec. He has also consulted with several companies.
Professor Allred has travelled extensively and has lived in Belgium, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, New Zealand, and Scotland. He also had extended stays in several countries, including Uganda (2011), Estonia (2010), and Hungary (2008) and spent the spring of 2013 travelling around the world on a ship, teaching with Semester at Sea. His current research interests are in international corruption and patent rights.

He has published in various journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, the Journal of International Management, Academy of Management Executive, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management.
Professor Allred has won several student-selected teaching awards at William and Mary, including the Undergraduate Business Program (2008, 2002), Full-Time MBA Program (2010), Executive MBA Program (2018, 2012) and Evening MBA Program (2017, 2014, 2004). He was also awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award at Penn State (1999).
