Karen Pinkus is a Professor of Romance Studies and Comparative Literature at Cornell University where she serves as editor of the journal Diacritics. Karen works in two primary areas: Italian literature and culture; and more recently, the question of how the humanities can address the climate emergency. At Cambridge she is a Leverhulme Visiting Professor in MML and will be teaching an MPhil module in Lent Term titled Reading Literature and Film After Climate Change and completing a new book between narrative, geology and critical theory, titled Down There. The Subsurface in the Time of Climate Change.
