Dr Marc-Philipp Pfeil

Dr Marc-Philipp Pfeil is a biochemist and biotechnology executive whose career spans academic research and strategic leadership in the life sciences. He completed his PhD at the University of Oxford, where his work focused on antimicrobial peptides and viral ion channels, followed by a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School investigating antiviral drug discovery and host-targeted therapeutic mechanisms.

Building on this scientific foundation, Dr Pfeil transitioned into roles that connect research, innovation, and strategy. He has led portfolio and corporate development initiatives within the biotechnology sector, shaping R&D strategy, guiding investment decisions, and supporting partnerships across therapeutic modalities. Earlier in his career, as a life science consultant, he advised pharmaceutical and emerging biotech organisations on R&D as well as commercialisation strategies.

His work continues to focus on bridging scientific discovery with translational and organisational strategy to enable sustainable innovation in healthcare.
