We are thrilled to celebrate Dr Nuru Noor, Affiliated Postdoctoral Member of the College, who has been awarded the UEG Rising Star Award 2026 and ECCO Young Researcher of the Year Award 2026, two major international honours recognising excellence in gastroenterology research and clinical practice.

The awards are presented by two of the leading international organisations in the field, the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) and the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). These highly competitive honours recognise emerging leaders whose work is making a significant impact on patient care and medical research worldwide.

Dr Noor was nominated by the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG), which has already highlighted his achievement in a public announcement. The recognition reflects Dr Noor’s growing international profile and the importance of his contributions to the field of gastroenterology.
