Clare Hall Fellow’s research on stroke risk linked to recreational drugs featured in major media
Research led by Professor Hugh Markus, Professorial Fellow at Clare Hall and Professor of Stroke Medicine at the University of Cambridge, has attracted widespread media attention, with coverage in outlets including The Guardian and The Independent.

The study, carried out by the Cambridge Stroke Research Group, analysed data from more than 100 million people across 32 studies. It found that the use of recreational drugs is associated with a significantly increased risk of stroke, including among younger users.
