Call for Applications: Industry and Enterprise Fellowships

23 March 2026 Fellows

Clare Hall is excited to announce a targeted call for the next round of our Industry and Enterprise Fellowships. Following the successful launch of our Industry and Enterprise Programme, we are now seeking up to three additional Fellows from the deep tech sector to join our vibrant senior membership, preferably connected to the physical sciences, engineering, or information sciences.

While we have previously focused on the immediate Cambridge cluster, we are now broadening our call. We welcome innovators and leaders from across the UK and international ecosystems, provided they can maintain a committed, regular in-person presence within the College.

Clare Hall is a college for advanced study at the University of Cambridge offering an intellectually stimulating, interdisciplinary setting for postgraduate students, postdoctoral affiliates and Fellows. With around 300 students, we are the smallest college by student number but also home to the largest Visiting Fellowship programme, with around 40 visiting senior academics in residence each year. Our Governing Body is enriched by 24 Research Fellows in addition to those with more senior positions within the University. We also have senior members from varying professions beyond academia: the result is a diverse and constantly refreshed, yet close-knit international community with a focus on research.

The college has recently launched an Industry and Enterprise Programme, supported by our current Industry and Enterprise Fellows, to develop budding entrepreneurs with links to Clare Hall. We have members with close links to Cambridge’s innovation ecosystem, providing an intellectually stimulating and diverse environment to foster new collaborations and ventures. With this membership category, Clare Hall is looking to increase cross-disciplinary interactions with industry experts and innovators, bridging the gap between high-level research and commercial application.

Industry and Enterprise Fellows will be appointed for period of two years, with the possibility of a renewal, and will receive a meal allowance to facilitate their engagement with the college. The Fellows will be elected senior members of the college, of non-voting status. They will be eligible to use the college’s facilities, participate in and/or lead seminar series, attend college functions, and more generally be an active part of this unique Cambridge community. We are seeking to appoint up to three additional Fellows through this call. We anticipate successful applicants would have a minimum of five years’ experience including raising of funds, or senior leadership experience in a commercial setting.

Applications must include the following documents in PDF and must be made online using the following link.

The deadline for applications is Monday 4th May.
