Vitruvian Woman: new book by Clare Hall Alumna Daniela Florea
Clare Hall Alumna and Life Member Daniela Florea will publish her new book, Vitruvian Woman: Redefining Executive Presence through the Power of Image Literacy, on 27 October.

The book explores executive presence through the lens of image literacy, bringing together ideas of Strength, Relevance and Beauty. Drawing on classical Vitruvian principles alongside contemporary thinking about leadership, Daniela considers how both women and men can align inner confidence and authority with the way they communicate and present themselves professionally.
Combining personal stories with practical tools, Vitruvian Woman examines themes including authenticity, influence, identity and soft power, particularly within complex and cross-cultural working environments. Daniela describes image literacy as a multidimensional leadership tool, bringing together “substance and style, external presentation and inner conviction”.
Daniela’s career has spanned entrepreneurship, technology, education and leadership consulting. She founded a mapping and data analytics business before going on to research leadership and cultural intelligence at Cambridge Judge Business School, and has since worked with executives and organisations across a range of sectors and cultures.
Born in Sibiu, Romania, and now based in Cambridge, Daniela writes about leadership, learning, careers and cross-cultural perspectives through her Image Ability blog and LinkedIn newsletter, Image Conversations. Her work explores how people navigate change, develop professional presence and build meaningful careers through competence, authenticity and collaboration.
Vitruvian Woman will be available in hardcover, softcover and e-book formats.
