Professor Florin Bilbiie

Florin Bilbiie is Professor of Economics at University of Lausanne, Research Fellow of the CEPR and Editor of European Economic Review.

Before 2018, he was a Professor at Paris School of Economics and Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne for nine years, and before that at Oxford University (Nuffield College) and HEC Paris. He visited and consulted with several central banks (New York Fed, Chicago Fed, ECB, Bank of England, Bundesbank, Riksbank, etc.) and held visiting positions with the National Bureau of Economic Research, New York University (NYC and Abu Dhabi) and CREi Barcelona.

Florin’s research focuses on business cycles and the role, effects and optimal design of monetary and fiscal policies, in environments with: household heterogeneity and inequality; firm entry and exit, product creation and market power; and/or complementarities. His research has been published in the Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, among others.
