Diana Voicu is Secretary of the Graduate Student Body Committee (GSB) 2022/23.

Diana is a PhD student in the Genetics Department. She uses computational methods to understand the non-coding genome, which accounts for the majority of our DNA. In particular, she studies the epigenetics behind the repurposing of ancient remnants of viruses which invaded the human genome millions of years ago and which are now involved in gene regulatory networks.

At Clare Hall, Diana manages the ALB student bar, and is part of the Boat Club and the Board Game Club. By taking on the role of GSB Secretary she wants to contribute more to students’ experience in college by creating a good record of the activities and decisions taken by the GSB Committee, and ensuring continuity for future generations of Clare Hall students.
