BODIES: Discover Movement Through Contemporary Dance

Your body is an orchestra – each limb an instrument, each motion a note. Have you ever explored the melodies you can create with it?
In this inclusive class, movers of all abilities are invited to be curious around body movement and awareness. We will do so through the versatility of contemporary dance: use of breath, contraction, release, fall, suspension, use of space, and much more. We will focus alternatively on self body-awareness, and on group engagement and interaction. Come along on your own or with friends, housemates or partners: you will enjoy the workshop in either case!
The practice can be adapted to any level of experience and mobility. You will be given instructions to tailor every movement to your own potential, whether it means to slow down or to make it more physically intense. All you’ll be asked is to bring your curiosity and to be ready to challenge yourself.
