Raphael Wallfisch & Simon Callaghan
It is an honour to welcome Raphael Wallfisch & Simon Callaghan, active for many years on the British and international scene, to Clare Hall.
Cellist Raphael Wallfisch and pianist Simon Callaghan are familiar names to music lovers. Active for many years on the British and international scene, it is a particular honour to welcome them at Clare Hall. Beethoven’s third Sonata is one of the best loved works of the cello repertoire. Chopin’s Sonata is a relatively rare work. One of his few ventures of the solo piano, it is one of his last works, written at a difficult time of his life, when his relationship with George Sand was coming to an end.
