Cannabis research: Clare Hall members explore affects on cognition and psychology
Research by Professor Barbara Sahakian (Fellow of Clare Hall); Dr Christelle Langley (Affiliated Postdoc); Martine Skumlien (PhD candidate at Cambridge); and Tianye Jia (Fudan University) interrogates how the drug cannabis affects the human mind.
In three recent studies published in The Journal of Psychopharmacology, Neuropsychopharmacology and the International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, the research group demonstrates that cannabis can influence a number of cognitive and psychological processes, including those relating to risk-taking, motivation and pleasure.
