Dr Jamie Craig elected chair of the Association of Clinical Psychologists

Congratulations to Life Member Dr Jaime Craig, who has been elected chair of the Association of Clinical Psychologists, the professional body for Clinical Psychologists in the UK.

His PhD whilst at Clare Hall focused on diagnostic features in childhood, and his subsequent DClinPsy research on diagnostic features of autism and psychosis in adults. He continued a research interest as Research Tutor on the doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Lancaster University and has published clinical research in child, adult and older adult mental health and the fields of intellectual disability and autism. Clinically he has worked mainly in child and family mental health.

Over recent years his work has been focused on improving the safeguards and outcomes for children and parents in the family courts, where he works as an expert witness and in particular the use and misuse of psychological evidence in cases involving allegations domestic abuse. He led on the development the guidance for psychologist experts in the family courts in his role as mental health specialist on the Family Justice Council which provides expert inter-disciplinary advice and guidance to the family justice system and contributed to similar guidance for paediatricians.

During his time at Clare Hall (1994-97) he was president of the GSB and founded the Clare Hall Boat Club.
