Markku Hokkanen selected as Eudaimonian Clare Hall Fellow for 2026
As part of an ongoing collaboration with the University of Oulu, Finland, the Eudaimonian Clare Hall Fellowship will welcome Markku Hokkanen as a visiting researcher in 2026. Hokkanen is an Adjunct Professor and University Lecturer in history, with a focus on African history.

This year’s Eudaimonian Clare Hall Visiting Fellow is Oula Seitsonen, who is researching the history of Lapland and Sámi communities, as well as issues related to the Holocaust. Researchers from the University of Oulu who have previously visited Clare Hall include Professor Jouni-Matti Kuukkanen and Senior Research Fellow Heini Hakosalo, who spent a year at the college from autumn 2023 to autumn 2024 with the support of the Oskari Huttunen Foundation.
