New exhibition opens: Paintings and monoprints by Benita Kevill-Davies

28 November 2025 College life

On 27 November, Clare Hall was pleased to welcome a new exhibition of paintings and monoprints by artist Benita Kevill-Davies. The Common Room was filled with lively conversation as fellows, students, and visitors gathered to enjoy the first look at her striking and contemplative works.

The artist was present throughout the evening, generously sharing her perspective and creative process with guests, which added a personal and engaging dimension to the event. The atmosphere was warm and appreciative, with many visitors taking their time to move between the works and reflect on the themes that shape her practice.

Kevill-Davies’s work spans from vivid landscapes and seascapes to more recent explorations of ancient barrows and imagined scenes of waiting and uncertainty. Her minimalist approach, paired with a rich and expressive use of colour, invites viewers to sit with mood, memory, and the quiet emotions that her compositions evoke. Over time, her paintings reveal deeper layers, rewarding those who return for a second look.

The exhibition is now open to the public until 8 January 2026, Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm. All are welcome to visit and experience this thoughtful and engaging collection.
