Professor Andrew Blake contributes to Mathematical Futures Programme report
In September 2024, the Royal Society launched a major new report that makes the case for a new approach to mathematical and data education, offering recommendations for system reform, which will provide a better mathematical education for everyone.
Professor Andrew Blake, Vice President of Clare Hall, is a board member of Mathematical Futures, and contributed to developing this major report. The new approach involves the introduction of data and computing into maths education in schools, and a more equitable curriculum with adaptations for those who struggle and fail repeatedly. As a result, we will be better equipped to thrive in a fast-changing, data-driven world, and young adults will be encouraged to continue their studies in mathematics and data-science.
