On 13 December, Clare Hall’s former President, Professor Ekhard Salje, was awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award by representatives from China’s Embassy in London and Xi’an Jiaotong University at a ceremony in the President’s Lodge. Professor Salje was recognised for his work in the earth sciences, and his close work with China over the years with regard to his research.

On receiving this award, Professor Salje shared, “I am extremely grateful for this award, and I hope that the collaboration between Cambridge and China will flourish in the future.”
