Supporting students at Clare Hall
On 7 November, six years after the launch of the Student Support Initiative, the University of Cambridge announced that they have surpassed a major milestone of raising £500 million to support students. The money raised from the generous gifts of donors has supported a range of efforts in three major areas; postgraduate studentships, undergraduate financial support and widening participation programmes and student life and wellbeing.
For postgraduates studying at Clare Hall, there are a variety of studentships, support funds, and bursaries that offer support towards fees and maintenance costs. These avenues of support allow our students to reach their full potential and make the most of their time at Cambridge.
Hear from some of our students about how Clare Hall has supported their educational journeys.
“With the Boak Fund support, I’ve been able to travel to almost seven conferences, from London, Liverpool, Paris, Vienna, Toronto, and more. Many of these experiences at Clare Hall would not be possible if it weren’t for generous support and donations.”
-Adham El Shazly, PhD Student in Philosophy
“I have received financial support from the College through the Chibnall Bursary, which has been really important for me to be able to be here and do the research that I want to do. Financial help is such a huge gift, to be able to focus that energy on my studies and on doing the things I need to do to make a career in academia.”
-Mallory Hrehor, PhD Student in History and Philosophy of Science
