Professor Yizi Shang

Professor at the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR), Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge, and Former Research Fellow at Harvard University, Professor Shang is a leading expert in the field of water resources management.

With over 20 years dedicated to advancing sustainable water utilization, he has served as the Principal Investigator (PI) for more than a decade in projects involving international institutions, public authorities, academia, and private industry. His research is focused on developing intelligent technologies that promote equitable and efficient water utilization, a field in which he has received multiple industry awards.

He is an active and influential member of international scientific communities, having held positions such as Board Member, Executive Director, and Secretary General in various organizations. In his role as an Associate Editor for Water International, the official journal of the International Water Resources Association, he plays a pivotal role in advancing global water sustainability research.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) in 2025.
