Dr Haoyang Ye

Haoyang is a radio astronomer and postdoctoral researcher in the Astrophysics Group at the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge. Her research spans radio-interferometric calibration, gridding and degridding, imaging, source detection and cross-matching, and radio-galaxy morphology. She has developed high-dynamic-range, high-accuracy imaging algorithms and processing pipelines for radio interferometers, and has contributed to deep radio-continuum imaging and catalogue production. She also teaches radio astronomy at MPhil level and supervises students.

Her current research focuses on developing and scientifically validating trustworthy, uncertainty-aware ML methods for radio astronomy, particularly for image reconstruction and source analysis. She also contributes to science verification for the SKA Regional Centre Network (SRCNet), and investigates how selection effects influence statistical studies of galaxy evolution.

Beyond research, Haoyang organises the Astro Career Talk Series, which brings together astronomers and former astronomers to share diverse career experiences and perspectives. She also works with ADRC as a mentor supporting neurodivergent students, as a neurodivergent researcher herself.
