In pictures: exhibition of landscapes by Jonny Church and C.N. Liew enjoyed at private view

27 November 2022 College life

A new exhibition of landscapes launched at Clare Hall last week, featuring oil paintings by local artist Jonny Church juxtaposed with ink art by Malaysian artist C.N. Liew. As with all our exhibitions, admission is free and everyone is welcome to explore the show daily from 10am – 5pm, until 5 January 2023.

We hope you enjoy the following photographs from our Private View, which took place on Thursday 24 November:

Jonny Church‘s interest in landscape has led him to explore how representation and abstraction can intersect, at times suggesting both existence and non-existence
C.N. Liew works to convey the beauty of structures and textures on natural rocks that are a central feature within Chinese garden or landscape art

Discover more about the exhibition via this page, and find more photographs from the Private View in this album. With thanks to Jeremy Peters for these photographs.
