Professor José Manuel Losada
José Manuel Losada is Full Professor of Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. He has been a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University, a member of the Senior Common Room at St John’s College, Oxford, a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Montreal, and a Senior Fellow at Durham University. During the 2026–2027 academic year, he is a Visiting Fellow at Clare Hall, University of Cambridge, with an attachment to the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics.
Professor Losada is the author of five scholarly monographs, the editor of twenty-three academic volumes, and has published over 200 articles and book chapters. He is the principal investigator of ACIS, Research Group of Myth Criticism, the founder and editor of Amaltea, Journal of Myth Criticism, and the president of Asteria, International Association of Myth Criticism. He has directed six national and regional research projects and organised nine international conferences on myth criticism.
