Clare Hall Boat Club was delighted to officially launch two brand new Janousek eights on Saturday 3 December, named the Richard Eden and Patricia & Kit Thompson of Glenelg.

A celebratory gathering of College members enjoyed fizz and nibbles as the eights were named, before being christened in the Christmas Head.

Following the boat naming ceremony, both boats raced in the City of Cambridge Christmas Head, with a crew composed of the current students winning over the alumni and Fellows by the narrow margin of four seconds over the 1,800m course. An enjoyable and memorable launch for CHBC’s fantastic new boats.

We very much look forward to watching the Boat Club on the river in the coming months.
